Herbs have been recognized for thousands of years in different aspects of life from healing to cooking. Tour the Santa Fe Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Herb Garden filled with herbs and aromas. Learn the basics of soil and composting methods and how to start growing an herb garden in small spaces or containers according to Santa Fe conditions and climate. Throughout history, every culture has developed their own dishes and seasoned food using the herbs available in their region. After time in the garden, enjoy the rest of the afternoon learning useful tips, exploring ways to cook using herbs from the region, and lunch in the Santa Fe Cooperative Extensions teaching kitchen.
