Mosaics dazzle and delight the artist in you as you create your mosaic art and learn about the wide variety of materials used for making mosaics. The course will cover design, terminology, substrates, adhesives, grout, and more as you are guided through the creation process of your 6” x 6” mosaic piece. You will be introduced to classical design methods as well as fabrication tricks and techniques. Students are welcome to bring in simple designs or choose a design from a selection of provided patterns and drawings. Open to students of all-levels. The course entails 3 sessions. Sessions One and Two each meet for 3.5 hours during which you will be immersed in creating your mosaic piece. Session Three, 2 hours, allows ample time for grouting your completed mosaic.
