The weather impacts our lives on a daily basis. Changes in the climate are likely to present significant challenges in the years ahead, with some effects already evident. Understanding how the weather works can help you be better prepared for your daily life, and it can provide a valuable insight into the meteorological hazards we face. This course provides an overview of the basic elements of meteorology, including: the composition and structure of the atmosphere, air pressure and winds, moisture in the atmosphere, weather patterns and storms, weather maps and forecasting, and climate.  This course does not require any prior mathematical or scientific training, it is intended for individuals with an interest in meteorology and the climate.
