An exploration of the effects of light on the planes of the head and neck help the student connect the head to the figure. Drawing portraits helps sharpen perspectives and skills as an artist. Students are urged to work quickly and in a large scale in this exciting class. The focus is on teaching the student to see shapes and values and their relation to each other in order to create a believable head. This study in turn, creates a solid likeness.
