Abstract and Non-Objective Painting

This 8 week hands on class is designed to familiarize students with the basics of abstraction and non-objective styles of painting. Each student will learn to stretch their canvas and will develop their paintings from the very first class. Using a variety of techniques with brushes and various tools and materials, students will begin developing their individualized process. Students will paint a 24 x 24 canvas using inspiration from their small paintings developed in class, drawings, and critique. The goal of this class is to give each student the basic understanding of color, composition, form and other elements to create successful paintings in the future.
For beginners and those already painting.
