Birding the Subalpine

Join a guide high in the Sangre de Cristo Range for a 3-mile hike with 900 feet of elevation gain. We’ll focus on breeding birds of the subalpine forests, such as the Canada Jay and American Three-toed Woodpecker. We’ll also have a good chance of seeing Clark’s Nutcrackers and Red Crossbills while we discuss identification, habitat, and birding by ear. Bring your binoculars.
