William Tabbernee was born in war-torn Rotterdam while the Nazis were occupying the city and the rest of the Netherlands. At the time, his father, who had been a soldier in the Dutch Cavalry fighting the Germans when they had invaded the Netherlands on May 10, 1940, was a forced laborer in Berlin, having been abducted by the SS. In this unique class, Dr. Tabbernee, a retired history professor, will not only provide an illustrated historical account of the German occupation of the Netherlands from 1940 to 1945, but include in his presentation numerous personal and family stories about what it was like to live under such occupation. A Four Seasons lunch is included!
