Feel good, more energetic, and firmed up on these fitness hikes designed to let you enjoy nature while exercising! You’ll learn about the local ecology of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains while getting in (or staying in) shape. Progressing from easy to more challenging terrain with warm-up and cool-down sessions, we’ll practice multiple hiking styles, explore the trails and backcountry of the Wilderness Preserve at Santa Fe Tree House Camp (7,700 ft. elevation), and utilize techniques, such as pacing, mountain breaths, lock step, and body dynamics for both uphill and downhill terrain. Bring a lunch, refillable water bottle, and (optional) hiking poles. Trail snacks will be provided. See you on the trail!
