Looking to go beyond the basic forks, pins, and discoveries? For players with several months of casual experience, this course will focus on checkmate and tactical combinations of 3-4 moves. You'll explore lesser-known tactics like decoy, attraction, desperado, and the Greek gift sacrifice, playing practice games with instructor supervision. Classes will also feature group lecture, with emphasis on puzzle solving and illustrative master-level examples. No tournament background is needed, but students should be proficient with describing moves using Algebraic notation.
