Intermediate Block Printmaking

In this class, you'll continue to build on the introductory techniques of hand printing relief block prints to produce a more complex body of finished prints. Topics include using and aligning multiple blocks for additional color, transferring artwork to the block, carving the image, the use of non-toxic inks, selecting and preparing paper, proper registration techniques, and more. Students will complete a small hand printed edition of multi-color prints to take home. Prior experience in Introduction to Block Printmaking or previous block printing knowledge is strongly recommended. All materials will be provided.
