Women have often been overlooked in historical narratives, so exploring their contributions, especially in a diverse context like New Mexico, can provide valuable insights into the region's history and the broader scope of American history. Native American, Hispanic, and Anglo women have undoubtedly played pivotal roles in shaping the culture, politics, and society of New Mexico, and highlighting their stories can offer a more comprehensive understanding of the state's past. This course will cover three distinct periods of New Mexico History including colonial, Territorial, and early statehood.
