« back to classes page
Cities are complex and fascinating, and you get all the more out of visiting them if you slow down, experience them deeply, and know how to interpret them. In this course, we will look at Santa Fe and various European and American cities, to learn how to read the stories that maps, buildings and streets reveal about the city's history, development, values, and "spirit of place". A special focus will be how cities are addressing climate change and promoting sustainable living. We will also discuss how to visit a city in a way that is both informative and mindful. Participants can pick a place they are interested in to study and discuss in the group.
