Ride into history on the only remaining operational car from the Train of the Stars ... the Santa Fe Railway’s Super Chief! Built in 1936, the Acoma lounge car was part of the original 1937 Super Chief train that ran from Chicago to Los Angeles. Depart from Santa Fe on a three-hour round-trip aboard this beautifully restored train car and learn about the history, geology and geography of this historic route. Prior to boarding, participants will take a short walking tour of the Santa Fe Railyard and discuss the history of the 18-mile-long branch line running from Santa Fe to Lamy. Originally part of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, the line is now operated by Sky Railway, whose generous support makes this experience possible.
