Mosaic Materials, Methods and More

Creating mosaic art is a tactile experience. The colors, texture, and luminosity of the materials enhance the art’s beauty. This course covers materials, design, terminology, substrates, adhesives, grout and more as you are guided through the creative process of your 6”x6” mosaic piece. You will be introduced to classical design as well as fabrication techniques. Students may bring in simple designs or choose a design from provided drawings. Open to students of all-levels. The course entails 3 sessions. Sessions One and Two each meet for 3.5 hours during which you will be immersed in creating your mosaic piece. Session Three, 2 hours, allows ample time for grouting your mosaic. Students can expect to purchase some materials on their own of approximately $40.
