Photographing Along the Santa Fe Trail to Las Vegas

The instructor will guide our group to explore and photograph places of historic interest on the final stretches of the Santa Fe Trail. We'll use research gathered from a photographic documentary exhibition created for the anniversary of the famed trail. Stops will include the towns of Watrous and Wagon Mound as well as Fort Union National Monument. The workshop will conclude with a 2-hour photo walk through the most historic streets of Las Vegas. Throughout the day, the instructor will demonstrate photographic techniques and share interesting contemporary context. There will be an optional group dinner at the famous Castaneda Hotel. You must be able to walk safely on city sidewalks and uneven terrain for a total of three miles.
