New Mexico Landscape Magic

The land around the Santa Fe area is magical. The trees, vegetation, stone, and soil are alive in a wonderful array of shapes, colors, and textures. You are guided in this workshop to explore that variety and create distinctive artwork. First, we venture onto the grounds of the Four Seasons Resort with our sketchbooks. The instructor points out a variety of possibilities in the landscape and shows you many unique ways to capture it through demonstration drawings. The emphasis will be to celebrate impressions as opposed to rendering perfect realism. After exploring outdoors, we go back inside and continue to work on the artwork using imagination and memory of what was experienced. Dry media will be used including pencil, color pencil, and pigment ink pens. Participants are welcome to bring other art media if desired. All skill levels are welcome from beginner through advanced. A Four Season’s lunch is included!
