« back to classes page
Just a short distance from the Santa Fe Plaza, you'll explore a diverse range of habitats and plant communities on this 7.5-mile, mostly downhill hike. Along the way, you'll examine vegetation gradients, the evolution of ecosystems, and the relationship between geography and climate. Learn about microclimates and how specific flora and fauna have adapted to varying environmental conditions. The hike also offers opportunities to explore geologic processes, animal tracks, and to identify plants and birds that make up the local habitats. You are responsible for arranging your own transportation.
