Over his 45-year career, George Rodrigue (1944-2013) painted hundreds of images of women. He painted expressive portraits of his friends, including the great artist and chef, Rosalea Murphy, founder of Santa Fe’s Pink Adobe Restaurant. More than any other human subject, however, Rodrigue painted his wife, Wendy, completing hundreds of paintings and drawings over twenty years. In time, she came to question her role not only within Rodrigue’s personal and artistic legacy, but also with regards to her own story and identity. Join Wendy Rodrigue Magnus for a personal afternoon of art and storytelling, accompanied by original George Rodrigue paintings of Women from her personal collection.
