Posi-Owinge, the largest ancient village located along the Rio Ojo Caliente, dates between 1350 to 1550 CE. Dr. Martha Yates leads this 2-mile round trip hike introducing you to the villages, kivas, plazas, mounded room blocks, pottery, and tools. Spend time in the ancient village and walk the agricultural fields of the ancestral pueblo people to learn about their farming techniques. The trail is moderately steep for the first 10 minutes; after that, it is an easy to moderate hike.
