Introduction to Block Printmaking

In this two-session workshop you will be introduced to the relief printmaking technique in a class designed so that you can continue your exploration of the technique in your home or studio after you leave. We will be designing and carving a single-color linoleum block print, from which you will be printing a small edition of prints to take with you at the completion of the class. Topics covered include ink types, printmaking papers, carving linoleum blocks, cutting tools, and more. All tools and materials will be provided for this workshop. The class provides non-toxic water-based inks, and students may use their own inks if desired.
