« back to classes page
CourseGraphic Create distictive prints in the manner of James McNeill Whistler and J. Alden Weir using the drypoint intaglio printmaking technique. With this technique, an image is directly scratched into a printing plate with an etching needle, inked and printed, yielding a print with the distinctive soft and sensuous line that only drypoint can produce. The versatile drypoint technique requires no chemicals or plate preparation, allowing artists to make plates in any location, including outdoors. In this 7-session class, you'll complete a small portfolio of prints of your own design. Previous printmaking experience and familiarity with a print studio and press is required for this course. All materials and tools are provided and are safe and non-toxic.
