Our lives are increasingly digital, and so are many of our most precious assets like photos and documents. But the longevity of those assets depends on our ability to effectively manage and preserve them over time. This workshop will provide an introduction to the curation and stewardship of personal digital archives. Topics include decision making on what to keep and how to describe assets for reliable retrieval. We cover protecting and maintaining data for the long term with specific guidance for different data types. You'll learn about DIY and outsourced digitization as well as useful tools. We emphasize low cost and privacy supporting options that are standards compliant. Join us to ensure your digital legacy remains accessible for many years to come.
