Trace Monotype Workshop

Developed by Paul Gauguin in the 1890s, trace monotype is a delightfully simple printmaking technique done without a press. By transferring ink from a smooth surface onto paper via traced drawings, you'll create unique prints with a soft, expressive quality. Learn to print in single or multiple colors, and optionally combine them with watercolors or colored pencils. No prior art-making experience is necessary. Participants should bring photocopies of photographic images to trace, or plan to make freehand sketches during the session.
