If you are already familiar with the hike at Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, this outing explores the spectacular geology West of Plaza Blanca to the eastern rim of Copper Canyon. Explore the area through a 5.5-mile moderate hike, which includes 3 miles of hiking up a rocky, uneven arroyo. The total elevation gain is approximately 400 feet. A wide variety of rock formations are exposed along the hike, revealing several geologic chapters in the history of landscape evolution in the Abiquiu region. Bring adequate water, lunch, all weather hiking gear, and hiking poles (optional).
