Go beyond the fork and the pin in this follow-up course for students who already know the basics. We'll cover more advanced tactics like zugzwang and interference, as well as clock usage to prepare for tournaments. We'll also get into endgame and opening principles, concepts of positional chess, and full master game analysis. Finally, we'll cover the major types of draws and how to find checkmate patterns in winning positions. Classes feature both one-on-one practice games and group instruction using a demo board. No equipment required, but students are welcome to bring their own sets, clocks, or even scorebooks if they wish to practice notation.
