This dynamic series invites participants to explore masterpieces of world literature that illuminate timeless questions of politics, power, psychology, and human imagination. Together we'll read literary masterpieces with fresh eyes for our current moment. Through lively discussion, these courses connect ancient and modern voices across cultures, offering insight into enduring struggles of justice, freedom, and truth. No prior knowledge of any language but English is required.  Additional details for each class are available at www.sfcc.augusoft.net.

Join us as we read and discuss two of 2025's best books. We'll start with the Argentine writer Gabriela Cabezon Camara's scintillating novel "We Are Green and Trembling," an imaginative picaresque and searing critique of subjugation and tyranny that masterfully subverts Latin American history. Then, we'll finish with Omar El Akkad's "One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This." We'll read slowly and talk deeply, spending two weeks on each book and the issues they raise.
