We encounter native trees and shrubs daily, but how well do we really know them? In this class, we’ll take a careful look at local species from 6,500 to 10,300 feet. We will visit several different habitats to examine everything from ecological adaptations to individual species characteristics. The strategies each plant employs will be deduced from examining the different systems with our senses. Bring light hiking gear, lunch, binoculars, hand lens, sketchbook, and colors, (pencil, paint, ink…)
